The Fresh Market people will be visiting us on Friday.  We would like everybody to go so please bring back your form and $2.00.

Dear 2K,

Welcome back to Term 3.  I hope you enjoyed your 2 week holidays.

I am looking forward to hearing about all the things you did at school in Term 2.  I have been told that it was a very busy one and that you worked hard on your learning.

Miss Crowe will be on Long Service Leave this term and she is being replaced by Mrs. Dickson.  This means you will be having Mrs. Dickson for ICT this term.  It is still at the same time, which is on Monday at 12.15 pm.

Have a great first day back,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Traditional Tales

Folktales

Folktales are the tales people tell and are usually passed down by word of mouth, rather than being written in books. Sometimes people write down these tales in order to keep the stories of a particular community. The important thing is that folktales have no author. It just comes from the culture and is carried forward by constant retelling.

Fairy Tales

A fairy tale is a story which is often intended for children. It features characters such as elves, goblins, wizards and fairies. The settings are often in a fantasy or make-believe place and magic can be involved in the story.

Myths and Legends

A myth is a story that talks about events or objects that are important to a specific culture.

A legend often has an element of truth to the story but this can be exaggerated.
