Monthly Archives: July 2014

Friday 1st August, 2014

Dear 3K,

Today is Jeans for Genes Day.  We are raising money to help find cures and better treatments for both Cystic Fibrosis and Downs Syndrome.

You will be spending a lot of time this morning writing and typing up your report on the African country you have chosen.  You need to find out about the schooling in that particular country as next week you will be comparing it to what we do here at LRPS.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Dear 3K,

You will be spending a lot of time this morning beginning to write your information report about your selected African country.

I will give you some information about your country’s population, capital city and a few other things.  You will be using the information you have researched about education in your country, that is currently in your writers’notebooks, as part of your report.

This Friday is Jeans for Genes day.  This is a fundraiser organised by the Junior School Council to help raise money to help find better treatments and cures for Downs Syndrome and Cystic Fibrosis.  You will be able to wear jeans to school on Friday (with your LRPS uniform on top).  It will be a gold coin donation if you choose to wear your jeans.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Book Fair will continue for the rest of this week.  You can buy a book from the Book Fair either before school or after school until 3.30 pm.

If you would like to buy a book from Book Club the orders are due this Friday.

Both the Book Fair and Book Club are run by Scholastic and money spent on books bought from both places benefit our school.

Don’t forget you can go into Mrs. Joyce’s classroom at lunchtime today to do your homework.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin
