Friday 19th December, 2014

Dear 3K,

Today is the last day of school for 2014.  I have enjoyed teaching you throughout the year and would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday.

We will be having our final assembly at 1.00 pm in the hall.  You will be dismissed from the hall after assembly at 1.30 pm.

Enjoy your last day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Dear 3K,

You will be visiting your new classroom this morning.  I will take you to the hall just before 9.45 am where Mr. Anton will read out the grades for next year.  You will spend until 10.30 am in your new room.

After recess you will be doing the Christmas activity that I did with the other grades in the unit yesterday.

As a special treat we will be going to Miss Ferguson’s classroom after lunch to do some Christmas activities with her children.

You will be taking everything home today, including hats.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Dear 3K,

We will be having Christmas Rotations today.  You will be with each 3 / 4 teacher for a Christmas activity for one hour.  That means you will have 2 rotations before recess and 2 after recess.

After lunch we will be playing games on the oval.

Don’t forget that tomorrow is Christmas Dress-Up Day with a gold coin donation.

Enjoy your day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Tuesday 16th December, 2014

Dear 3K,

You will be having P.E. at 9.45 this morning instead of after recess.  Unfortunately you wont be having Art this week.  You will however be having Mrs. Dickson tomorrow at the normal time.

After recess today I will be taking you to the Computer Lab where you will be given a couple of choices as to what you can do on the computers.

You will be rotating around the 4 classrooms within our unit tomorrow where you will be doing a Christmas activity.  This is only for those children whose behaviour has earned this privilege.  After lunch we will be playing games on the oval.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Monday 15th December, 2014

Dear 3K,

It was great to see you share your Writer’s Gifts with other children from our unit at the assembly on Friday.  They are looking fantastic!  I will give you some time this morning to finish any pieces of publishing that you may not have finished yet.

I will also be giving you an opportunity to start making your person that you wrote a biography about.

After lunch today the Prep / 1 Unit will be having their Expo.  Our grade’s time to go is from 2.30 pm until 2.50 pm.  They will be sharing what they know about an artefact.  Their focus this time has been on History.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Dear 3K,

It was great to see so many children and adults at LRPS’s first ever Bloke’s Night last night.  It was lots of fun.  We will be having another one next year.

We have got Maths Rotations after recess today.

Dear 3K,

I will be giving you some time this morning to go on with your handwritten pieces of writing for the Writer’s Gift.  The one that everyone needs to complete is their ‘I see, I hear, I taste, I smell, I feel’ experience at camp.

I have also spent a lot of time printing off your finished typed up pieces of writing and putting them into your Writer’s Gifts.  I will share these with you after our Spelling Test this morning.

The Bloke’s Night will be held tonight from 5:00 pm.  You need to come along with a responsible adult male.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Tuesday 9th December, 2014

Dear 3K,

You will be having your final transition this morning.  I will take you to the hall at 9.00 am where we will meet as the 2015 3 / 4 Unit.  You will then go with one of this year’s grade 3 / 4 teachers.  You will come back to our classroom at 10.45 am.

Unfortunately this means you will miss out on Art today but you will still be having P.E. after recess as usual.

Don’t forget about tomorrow night’s Blokes Night.  You will need to return the slip of paper telling us how many people from your family will be coming with your responsible male adult.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin
