Homework – Term 2 Week 5

We will be using OWIs (Observe, Wonder, Infer) to help us understand the books we read. When completing an OWI it makes us determine important facts (Observe), ask open-ended questions (Wonder) and make inferences for our questions (Infer). We present our OWI in a three column note with the headings Observe, Wonder and Infer.

Look carefully at the image below. What do you observe? What do you wonder? What do you infer?

    wonder why is the cat in the tree?
    infer I think that the cat is in the tree because it dose not want to get tagged.

    observe I see a dog looking at a cat.
    wonder why is the dog looking at the cat?
    infer I think that the dog is waiting for the cat.

    observe a cat laying in a tree.
    wonder why is the cat laying in the tree?
    infer I think the cat is tried.

    I see a dog looking at the cat?
    I wonder why the dog looking at the cat?
    I infer the dog wants to play with the cat.

    I see the cat is teasing the dog?
    I wonder why the cat teasing the dog?
    I infer that it never coming down in until the dog goes away.
