Dear 3 / 4 K,

Don’t get tricked with today’s date.

Josh’s dad will be helping us in our classroom on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings for the next 2 weeks.  I know that you will make him feel welcome.

Don’t forget about the school’s Open Night tomorrow night where you can come along and play Maths games in any of the classrooms.  If you would like a sausage in bread could you please return the RSVP slip that was in last week’s newsletter so that we know how many sausages need to be cooked.  The Open Night goes from 5.30 pm till 7.00 pm.

We will also be having a visit from Glenda Millard on Thursday.  She is an author and Mr. Child will be reading a couple of her books to you this week.

Homework – Term 2 Week 8

Your homework for this week is to go onto Glenda Millard’s website and write down at least 3 things that you have learned about Glenda Millard.

Dear 3 / 4 K,

A major focus today will be on each group getting some of their information written onto their published piece of paper.  The writing needs to be neat and big enough for the people to see.

I hope you gave your invitations to your selected adult for the Family Maths Night.  More information will be in today’s newsletter.

We will be having our first Free Play session today for those children who have completed their homework and haven’t got their name into the Yard Duty folder for the past fortnight.

Dear 3 / 4 K,

You will be having your P.E. session after recess tomorrow.

Dazzler lunch forms and money are also due tomorrow.

Next week is going to be quite an exciting week.  The school will be having an Open Night on Tuesday night.  I have some invitations that you can use to invite an adult to come to the school and play Maths games with.

We also have an author coming to speak to the Grade 3 / 4 Unit on Thursday.  Her name is Glenda Millard.

Wednesday 27th May, 2015

Dear 3 / 4 K,

Those childen who have paid and returned their forms will be going to see G’Day Asia at 9.00 this morning.  The other children will be going to Mrs. Joyce room.  You will need to take your Writers Notebook and your pencil case.

We will have our Library lesson after recess today.  Your P.E. session will be after recess on Friday.

You will be doing your Maths On-Demand test for this term today in the computer lab.  It will be the hour before lunch.

Dazzler Lunch forms and money are due this Friday.

The G’day Asia performance is tomorrow.  You can still bring the money and forms to the office today.

You will be shown this week’s homework later on in the morning.  It follows on from the work we have been doing on snapshot writing.  You can complete your homework in Mrs. Joyce’s classroom at lunchtime today.

Homework – Term 2 Week 7

For this week’s homework, you will use the image below. Imagine that is you standing on the lighthouse.

– Write at least 3 things that you see.

– Write at least 2 things you would be feeling.

– Write at least 2 things you would be able to hear.

Try and use adjectives to help your descriptive writing and see if you can use a simile.

Mr. Child will be taking you for the day today.  Mr. Carolan will also be in the classroom as well.

The money and forms for G’day Asia are due on Monday.  At this stage only about half the children in our grade have paid.

You will be having Maths Rotations the hour before recess today with your new Multiplication and Division groups.

You have got Unit Assembly after lunch.
