Monthly Archives: October 2015

Friday 30th October, 2015

Dear 3 / 4 K,

Today is ‘Day for Daniel’ Day.  We will be following up our discussion from yesterday about staying safe.  I have a special bookmark to give each of you to help remind you about the 3 R’s.

We will be spending the first hour this morning publishing.  I am really pleased with the way your Writers’ Gifts are coming along.

Don’t forget that it is an extra long weekend for you as Monday and Tuesday are both holidays for all students.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Dear 3 / 4 K,

You will be going to your new Maths Rotations today.  The focus is Multiplication and Division and I will let you know which group you are in just before recess.

Don’t forget to wear RED tomorrow as part of ‘Day for Daniel’ Day.  There is no money required as it is an awareness day to help keep children safe.

Also a reminder that homework is due tomorrow.  It would be great if everybody could get it done.

Monday and Tuesday next week are holidays for you.  Monday is a Curriculum Day for the teachers so they will be at school and Tuesday is a public holiday for the Melbourne Cup.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Wednesday 28th October, 2015

Dear 3 / 4 K,

This Friday is ‘Day for Daniel’ Day.  Everybody is being asked to wear RED.  This week’s homework is related to this day where you are asked to remember the 3 R’s in order to keep yourself safe.

I really liked the work you did yesterday on your pictures about our early aborigines.  I think it was a great idea of Chelsea’s to include these in our Writers’ Gift.  We will complete some writing to go with these pictures today.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Autobiographies

Autobiographies

We are busy preparing for the school writer’s festival.

We have been working towards preparing our best work in a Writer’s Gift. As part of our Writer’s Gift we need to have an autobiography.

Here are the sentence starters you need to use to be successful.

Dear 3 / 4 K,

You can go to Mrs. Joyce’s room at lunchtime today to complete your homework.  Those children who didn’t do their homework last week have to go to Mrs. Joyce’s room.

Mrs. Hammet will be coming into our room after Art this morning to watch our discussion about money.

Have a great day,

From Mr. Kilmartin

Homework – Term 4 Week 4

This Friday is Day for Daniel day.  The video we saw last week talked about the 3 R’s – Recognise, React and Report.  Your homework for this week is to write down at least one thing that you can do for each of the 3 R’s.

Recognise – We want you to Recognise that there are dangers out there, but you can help to keep yourself safe. What body clues help to tell you that you could possibly be in an unsafe situation?

React – If you feel scared, confused, sad or upset you need to React.  What is at least one thing that you can do to help keep you safe?

Report – If you have been in an unsafe situation who can you Report it to?

You will also be completing the post-test about fractions.  This is the same test that you did before the Fractions Maths Rotations.

Have a great day,
